What is the DockLite?
Make your iMac work for you again. The DockLite delivers a simple, effective way to turn your ageing iMac into a functional external display. An integrated amplifier keeps your original internal speakers in play, and Juicy‑Link lets you adjust backlight luminance from software. An onboard USB hub also lets you keep using your iMac’s original SD card reader, webcam and IR sensor.

Open your iMac
Access the internals using our illustrated guide — no special tools beyond a standard screwdriver.
Remove the original board
Disconnect and lift out the original internal board. The process is completely reversible.
Install the DockLite
Slot the DockLite into place, reconnect the cabling, and you’re ready to go.

On the board
Six features, one drop-in board.
Micro Controller
Acts as the brains of the DockLite — intelligently adjusting fan speed, changing display brightness and automatically putting the system to sleep when it’s not in use.
USB Hub
The onboard USB 2.0 hub lets the DockLite interface with your iMac’s original accessories, such as the iSight camera and SD card reader.
Audio Amplifier
Connects to your iMac’s original internal speakers, so you can keep pumping out music just as you did before.
Tactile Buttons
Accessible via the RAM access hatch on the bottom of your iMac, for easy adjustment of display brightness.
USB Ports
Accessed via the RAM access hatch, letting you connect a keyboard, mouse or USB stick to your computer.
Juicy-Link
